Passed Insolvency and Bankrupt Board Limited Exam in 2017 and now applied for membership from NISM (National Institute of Securities Market under SEBI) as registered Insolvency professional. The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code 2016 became law in May 2016. The code aims to resolve the debt recovery conundrums of the financial / operational creditors in a phased and structured manner, thereby giving the corporate debtor a mechanism to revive itself.

Served as Independent Director of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited, (CPCL), Chennai, nominated by Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Govt., of India during Oct’2013 to Oct’2016 for a term of 3 years. Also served as Chairman of Audit committee & Chairman of CSR committee of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited.

CA. G. Ramaswamy FCA FCS, hailing from Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), has become the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the year 2011-12 by the 21st Council of Institute on 12th February, 2011. He was serving as Vice President of the ICAI for 2010-2011. He has been as Council member of ICAI from 2004-2013 for consecutive three terms.

He also served as the Board Member of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) for three years term elected in November 2011 to 2014. IFAC is the worldwide organization for the accountancy profession. Founded in 1977, IFAC is comprised of 164 members and associates in 125 countries and jurisdictions. He also served with the Planning and Finance committee of IFAC. He was also the Technical Advisor to Professional Accountancy Organization Development Committee (PAODC) of IFAC.

He is the former member on the Board of the Confederation of Asian Pacific Accountants (CAPA) & former Member in the XBRL International Steering Committee. He was the former Board Member and Chairman of Small and Medium Practices Committee of SAFA.

He has also served in Disciplinary committee of ICAI in various capacities as Member of Board of Discipline u/s 21A; Disciplinary Committee u/s. 21B; Disciplinary Committee – Satyam Bench u/s 21B continuously for seven years during 2004-2013.
